Student Choice Project - Preproposal

For my student choice project, I would like to make a website for an online art gallery that sells art via paypal shopping cart for individual artists.
The website should act as an advertising platform to sell art that is shipped directly from the artist to the buyer.
I would like to have the feel of the web site to be artistic but also elegant. I will be including some flash on the home page. The galleries will have lightboxes to show the art more closely.
I plan to have featured artists pages also.

From the “main level” we have a “secondary level” under a few specific “main level” links to provide more information on them and finally under the “secondary level” we have “third level” with ample of information nested inside a few “secondary level” links. Questions to ask the customer

What message do you want to convey?
What is your target audience?
Do you have any favorite colors?
What is the main purpose for the site?
Will you need site management systems?
Would you be willing to switch hosting services to save 30$ per month?
If so, we could set up a paypal shopping cart for free but you would loose the site management system. This would save min. 330.- per year which could be used to pay for updates and maintenance per need.
How often do you need to update your content?
